New routes to success – Connecting Dumbarton

Improvements between Dumbarton Central Station and the town centre will help make journeys safer and more enjoyable for pedestrians and cyclists. These new travel connections are just one part of an ambitious redevelopment of Dumbarton that will attract more people, meaning more opportunities for businesses to gain customers. The UK Government is providing £19.9 million to West Dunbartonshire Council for three projects.

  •  Glencairn House, the oldest building in Dumbarton, will become a community hub
  •  high-quality public realm improvements between Dumbarton Central Station and the town centre, making journeys safer and more enjoyable for pedestrians and cyclists
  • redeveloping the Artizan Shopping Centre to become the site of a new urban quarter, reviving the connection between the main train station to the town centre
