Local talent for local businesses  –  UK Shared Prosperity Funds

The UK Shared Prosperity Fund is boosting productivity, raising living standards and helping to spread opportunities across local economies. The UK government fund aims to support businesses, increase private sector investment in growth and support local areas to fund gaps in skills.

Over £130 million of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund has been allocated to Yorkshire, some of which is helping to boost skills and training initiatives in the region.

The funds will go toward projects such as:

  • Decarbonising Hull Innovation Pump Primer – investment funding a series of events, workshops and innovation support, aimed at increasing awareness for SMEs about how decarbonisation can benefit their businesses.
  • West Yorkshire Digital Enterprise Scheme – a project to provide advice and grant funding to eligible SMEs across West Yorkshire to improve their business capabilities and achieve sustainable growth by investing in technology and digital solutions.

  • Hull Overseas Trade Awareness Project – a range of workshops to help SMEs in Hull grow their businesses through export by engaging with regional stakeholders and guidance from experts.
