New funds to help businesses grow – Midlands Engine Investment Fund

The Midlands Engine Investment Fund aims to transform finance for smaller businesses in the Midlands and realise the region’s potential to achieve economic growth. This ranges from small business loans of £25k to up to £5 million worth of equity finance.

£300 million has already been invested across the Midlands and a second fund (MEIF II) will be provided in the first half of 2024, to invest an additional £400 million of funding for growth of smaller businesses.

MEIF is a collaboration between the British Business Bank and ten Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) in the West Midlands and East and South East Midlands.

Additional funding from next year will be funded by the UK government.
