Regenerating Ashton Town Centre
Levelling Up Fund
Ashton will receive almost £20 million from the Levelling Up Fund to transform the town centre, and create job opportunities with more shops, new businesses and more reasons for people to visit.
The town’s famous market square is getting a revamp, making it beautiful and easier to get around – with new pavements, stalls, seating and pedestrian-friendly areas where events can be held and people can spend time.
The money will also help to prepare the former interchange site for new homes and businesses helping local people take that first step onto the property or business ladder. Government cash will also be used to kick start the restoration of the iconic Ashton Town Hall with a view to restoring its former glory – keeping this historic building at the heart of the community for many years to come.
