New funds to help businesses flourish – Midlands Engine Investment Fund II
The UK Government’s Midlands Engine Investment Fund II aims to transform finance for small businesses in the Midlands and to realise the region’s potential to achieve economic growth. Businesses looking to grow will be able to apply for funding between £25,000 and £5 million. The funds can be used to help small businesses grow, hire more staff and reach new heights.
Breathing new life into local businesses – West Bromwich Town Deal
Fifteen towns across the West Midlands have received Government funding, including Burton-upon-Trent, West Bromwich, Hereford and Nuneaton. This funding is giving businesses in the West Midlands places to grow and attract new customers. The Retail Diversification Programme will transform retail areas in West Bromwich town centre and regenerate it through the creation of a new indoor market and a retail space.
Keeping businesses moving – Mid‑Staffordshire Road Improvements
The UK Government’s Levelling Up Fund will invest £19.8 million to kickstart major road improvements in Staffordshire, including the A38, A511 and A38/A5121 junction, to better connect the region. The improvements will help to improve journey times, connect businesses with suppliers and help the local economy flow.
Helping small businesses find big talent – Skills Bootcamps
UK Government-funded Skills Bootcamps in the West Midlands are connecting businesses with a larger pool of local talent. The Skills Bootcamps will provide people with the knowledge and skills that businesses need to help them grow. Training has been developed in collaboration with local employers to help directly address local skills gaps and future-proof businesses. They offer courses in digital, green sustainability, retrofit, advanced manufacturing, engineering and logistics.
