The UK Government is investing over £1.5 billion in Levelling Up projects for local people and businesses across the East Midlands.

New funds to help businesses grow – Midlands Engine Investment Fund 

The Midlands Engine Investment Fund aims to transform finance for smaller businesses in the Midlands and to realise the region’s potential to achieve economic growth. Small businesses will be able to apply for the next round of funding in 2024. Current funding is already helping other businesses expand and hire more staff, bringing the total investment in the region to over £700 million since 2017.

Helping more businesses take flight – East Midlands Freeport – East Midlands Freeport

Freeports are special areas within the UK’s borders where different economic regulations apply, such as tax & customs relief. The East Midlands Freeport is a fantastic place for businesses to grow, innovate and trade with the world, backed by generous incentives to invest and support from government. It will bring thousands of new high-skilled jobs to the region and unlock investment in low-carbon energy for the future.

New routes to success – Town Deals

From Skegness to Newark, Town Deals are improving transport across the East Midlands. In Newark, a partnership has been developed with Brompton Cycles to install docking stations across the town and support its ambition to become a ‘Twenty Minute Cycle Town’. And in Skegness, a full renovation to the town’s main station will see improvements to the internal concourse and taxi rank area, new community facilities and commercial units for start-ups.

The Best Hires to Take Your Business Higher – Skegness, Mablethorpe and Newark Towns Deals

The East Midlands will soon welcome learning facilities in Skegness and Mablethorpe thanks to investment from the UK Government. The Campus for Future Living – a flagship project for Mablethorpe, and the Skegness Learning Campus – a new, state-of-the-art learning centre, will prepare the learners of today to become the skilled workforce of tomorrow. And the new Air and Space Institute in Newark is already training the next generation of pilots, engineers and aviation ground crew.
